Southern Africa

The Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), commonly referred to as the “Salesians” belong to a Religious Congregation of priests and brothers in the Roman Catholic Church. We live and work in communities in approximately 130 countries of the world.

In Southern Africa (AFM = Africa Meridianale) we have formed seven communities, working in South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho.

The communities are located in: Cape Town at the Salesian Institute, and at Lansdowne at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish. Gauteng at the Bosco Youth Centre near Walkerville; the Pre-Novitiate and Don Bosco Educational Projects in Ennerdale; and at Ozanam House in Booysens. Swaziland there are 2 communities in Manzini and Malkerns; and Lesotho in Maputsoe and Maseru.
