The Mamã Muxima Vice Province (VMM) carries out its mission within the territory of the Republic of Angola, forming part of the Society of Saint Francis of Sales, known as the Congregation of the Salesians of Don Bosco, with its headquarters in Rome, Italy (via Marsala 42, CP 00185, Rome). This Society, in turn, is recognized in the Catholic Church as a clerical religious institute of pontifical right, dedicated to the works of the apostolate (C 2).

The Salesians of Don Bosco, having arrived in Angola on September 1, 1981, formed a Delegation of the Province of Our Lady Help of Christians, São Paulo – Brazil (BSP); officially becoming a Vice Province or Mamã Muxima Visitation on February 3, 2000
